supporting our Trans family and friends!!!

Friends and Allies,
hotpot! values diversity, sustainability, and listening to all voices in our community. Every year, we are thrilled to actively participate in the Philadelphia Trans Health Conference.
This year Van will speak on the API trans/GNC Voices panel on Sat. June 15 with 5 other people. The fabulous Kay (www.kaybarrett.net) will moderate and stellar Emi Koyama (of eminism.org)  will speak. They are traveling from New York City and Portland, Oregon. Let’s welcome them to Philly with love.
Show your hospitality by offsetting their cost of ADA accessible housing (which is otherwise cost prohibitive but absolutely necessary). Your donation will go directly to lodging for disabled/crip tpoc apia panelist/moderators and their care support (which include their service animal companions & care partners). We believe that it is our communal responsibility to raise these funds, join us.
Every donation counts from $200 to $5. Click here to donate!!!
Will you support our efforts and donate?
Peace,
Alison, Laurent and the hotpot! steering committee

NQAPIA’s National Sign On Letter on LGBT Immigrants’ Rights

Recap: Jan 31st LGBTQ Immigration Event

Hello friends,

Did you make it to our 3rd LGBTQ Immigrant Rights Community Forum on January 31st? We held it at the William Way Center and over 80+ attended. We were moved by narrative stories of LGBTQ newcomers to Philadelphia. Conversations were layered and we debated things like how we might want something now, but we might not want it long term. We also ate food, hung out with new friends and laughed a bit. As one participant Matthew wrote, “…we need to shift away from being on the defensive about e-verify. We need to make commitments that makes a municipality the most welcoming so people can do their best and work and care about what they are doing instead of being scared.” Another friend Erika wrote a message to LGBTQ newcomers, “You can find a home here. You can make your own version of family.” ❤
Below are some pictures, enjoy!
