It was the second annual Trans* March at Love Park, and we had an amazing time supporting our fellow trans* brothers, sisters, siblings, and friends. A year ago, we helped make a presence in the city. We were out and proud in our support of trans* people as an organisation because we have a strong commitment to raising awareness about issues within our community. Thanks to everyone who participated with us on behalf of hotpot!.
This year, the rally came together to commemorate Kyra, whose death occurred one month ago. We cannot let these senseless deaths within the trans* community continue. We must educate, support, and fight for our friends. As a trans* person, it pains me to see lives end because of the hate and fear thrown at us. The Trans* March is a small step toward equality, and we need more people to walk alongside us.
