Hello hotpot!, friends, and community partners,
I cordially invite you to hotpot!’s Queer Immigrant Rights Panel Discussion (second iteration this year) and Newcomers’ Resource Guide to Philadelphia Planning Meeting. My vision is that we come together at the William Way Center to think through the creative and logistical details for this Panel Discussion that we will host this winter and the Resource Guide we will publish by Spring 2013.
Since this event is a visioning meeting, I’d like to invite people who were involved in the planning meetings for the Queer Immigrant Rights Community Forum we hosted in May as well as new allies who want to join us. Any friend who wants to help in this visioning process is welcome to come.
Please take a look at the program book from our May 2012 Queer Immigrant Rights discussion. Also, here is a Torontonian publication–I was in Toronto a few times in the summer of 2011and was amazed to find multiple non-profit publications aimed for queer newcomers (I also learned to use the term newcomer around this time) that might spark interest and debate. All suggestions welcome.
When: October 25th, 6-8pm
Where: William Way Center, 1315 Spruce St. Philadelphia, PA 19107
Why: If you want to join visioning conversations about a Queer Immigrant Rights Panel and Queer Newcomers’ Resource Guide to Philadelphia
Who: Anyone who is affiliated with hotpot! as a member, ally, future friend and those involved with Immigrants Rights work in Philadelphia and wants to be a part of the planning for the panel and resource guide.
If you can’t come, there are still many ways you can be involved! Be in touch~
