10:30am until 12:30pm
Meet at Arch Street United Methodist Church (next to City Hall)
As many of you know we’re revving back up our work around immigration in 2012 with the help of the Asian Mosaic Fund. Therefore we thought a great way to start would be to go into the streets on MLK day for immigrant rights. We can bring our signs and show that we too care and want to demand change. I am still learning so much about immigrant justice and at our January potluck at Van’s house we’ll be talking more about our immigrant stories and what is going on now. Let’s learn together and demand change.
I care about immigrants rights because they are human rights, because trans and gender nonconforming people are unjustly treated in detention centers, because s-comm creates fear throughout our community and because my friends and chosen family are impacted by the current legislation.
Let Alison know if you’ll join her (firstname.lastname@example.org) We can go out for some lunch in Chinatown afterwards.
